After all those years of filling potholes, we need to step up and invest in a longer-term solution to some of the more chronic problem areas. The abundance of potholes has occurred over the years due to improper preparation of the road base and increased traffic…. especially heavy vehicles. In a significant collaboration, the Midnight Pavers have an agreement with Tillamook Countyto make the paving of sections of roads in Neskowin so they remain without potholes much longer.
The plan involves preparing the existing road to be the “base” and installing two layers of asphalt, a 1.5” leveling course followed by a 2” overlay = 3.5” of asphalt! The opinion of the experts we consulted, this would solve 90% of the yearly pothole problem in the village and give us many years of service.
Please Help Us Meet the Challenge
Tillamook County will provide $50,000+ in materials (800 tons of asphalt)
The Midnight pavers and flaggers will contribute manpower to reduce the budget by $15,200
The community needs to contribute $53,000 for this project
The Neskowin Community Association has offered to match $25,000 of the community contributions
Community members have already donated $14,500
(A big thank you to our generous friends and neighbors who have already contributed)
Now we just need to raise $13,500! PLEASE HELP
